Gunning and Company Estate Sales is in business to handle all of your Estate and moving Sale needs, and downsizing of your personal or family contents, collectables, or valuable possessions. We are here to assist you with all of your liquidation needs.
Estate Liquidation
The process of Estate liquidation whether by death, divorce, or economic circumstances are often challenging and overwhelming. Our professional staff will ease the burden and stress often related to liquidating your belongings whether personal or those of a loved one. We will handle each situation with complete respect and understanding during these difficult times. If marital equitable distribution service is required, we will direct you to competent counsel who will readily assist you with expert advice
The Anatomy of the Sale
Upon the initial contact, we will discuss a convenient time to meet and discuss your current situation and goals. We will tailor our services around your individual needs through a comprehensive free consultation.
Once we meet, we will formulate a clear understanding of your goals and begin to lay out a strategy. Not every situation is the same so we like to begin with the end in mind.
We will then tour your site together to gather information, discuss your personal contents, and gather an inventory in order to properly identify the contents you desire to sell before any pricing is established. Often we consult with experts in the field of furniture, fine art, and collectibles to ensure we are maximizing the best return on the contents to be sold.
Once we establish a clear understanding of your inventory, we will then begin the process of pricing, keeping in mind several variables, such as personal feelings on value as well as current market conditions.
We will then execute the sales agreement and discuss the dates and times of the sale which are convenient.
We will photograph all of the items in the inventory so that we may begin the important phase of marketing and advertising the sale.
Keep in mind the above portion of the process may take more than one visit; we would rather be more in line with the goal than rush the steps of the process.
Once the dates and times of the sale are established, we will begin a marketing campaign through online resources related to Estate Sales which we subscribe, in addition to local newspapers and signage. Note: your address is not made public until the day before the sale to protect your privacy and avoid any nuisances, unless you wish otherwise.
We begin the staging of the sale and once completed we have a presale meeting usually the day or evening before the sale begins.
We conduct our sales three full days beginning on Thursdays and running through Saturday. Of course other days can be arranged to meet your needs. We will provide you with a daily recap as the sale progresses.

Service Fee
We work on a percentage of the total sale, which includes staff & advertising costs.
Promoting your Estate Sale
We effectively advertise your Estate Sale in all local papers. Additionally, we have been successful in our internet-based advertising as well as email notifications with positive results. Further, we provide on- site signage the day of the sale.
Clean Outs
If required, we can arrange for services to handle trash removal and home cleaning.
